Region Qualification
1. Australia*

A. Students from high schools:
New South Wales / Australian Capital Territory: Universities Admission Index (UAI) minimum 80

South Australia / Northern Territory / Tasmania / Western Australia: Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER) minimum 80

Victoria: Equivalent National Teritary Entrance Rank (ENTER) minimum 80

Queensland: Overall Position (OP) Band between 1 and 8

B. Students studying at university:
Successful completion of one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university in Australia.

2. Canada*

A. Students from high schools:
Alberta: Passes in five acceptable Grade 12 courses, provided that at least 70% is achieved in each of these courses.

British Columbia: Senior Secondary Graduation Diploma with Grade B in five Grade 12 subjects.

Ontario: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with a minimum average of 70% in six Grade 12 U or M courses.

Quebec: Diploma of Collegial Studies.

Other provinces: High shool graduation diploma with at least 70% in five Grade 12 subjects.

B. Students studying at university:
Successful completion of one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university in Canada.

3. France

i) Baccalaureate d'Enseignement du Second Degre; or

ii) Option Internationale du Baccalaureate (OIB); or

iii) European Baccalaureate

Or applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university/ college.

4. Germany*

A. Students from high schools:
Completion of High School Degree of Secondary Education (Abitur)/ Zeugnis der allgemeinen Hochschulreife (German Abitur certificate).

B. Students studying at university:
Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university.

5. India*

A. Students from high schools:
Completion of a senior secondary school leaving certificate at Grade 12 level, e.g. All India Senior School Certificate Examination/ High School Certificate, with 75% or better in each of the subjects which should include English.

B. Students studying at university:
Successful completion of one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university in India.

6. Indonesia*

A. Students from high schools:
Surat Tamat Sekolah Menengah Umum Tingkat Atas/STTB: SMA (Senior Secondary School Certificate of Completion) would not be sufficient for candidates to make a competitive application.

STTB SMA or GCEOL/ GCSE, plus GCEAL results stipulated by the University; or

Completion of SMA Ujian Sekolah; and

Completion of SMA Ujian Nasional.

B. Students studying at university:
Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university.

7. Ireland Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in five subjects at C level or better in Higher level papers. 
8. Japan*

Upper Secondary Certificate of Completion (Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shomeisho) or GCEOL/ GCSC, plus GCEAL results stipulated by the University.

Or applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university/ college.

9. Macau

A. Students from high schools:
Applicants should obtain passes in:

i) at least 6 subjects (including English and Chinese/ an alternative language other than Chinese and English) in the General Certificate of Education at Ordinary Level/ General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCEOL/ GCSE) Examination in two consecutive sittings, and

ii) at least 2 Advanced Level (AL) subjects (or 1 AL plus 2 Advanced Supplementary (AS) subjects.

B. Students studying at university:
Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university.

10. Malaysia*

A. Students from high schools:
Applicants should obtain:

i) either passes in at least 7 subjects at UEC level in the same sitting*; or

ii) with passes in at least 7 subjects at SPM level; AND 3 subjects in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) in the same sitting, other than language subjects.

B. Students studying at university:

Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university.

11. New Zealand

New Zealand Bursary A; or New Zealand Bursary B (250 or above).

In and after 2004,

i) A minimum of 42 credits at level 3 or higher on the National Qualifications Framework, including a minimum of 14 credits at level 3 or higher in each of two subjects from an approved subject list, with a further 14 credits at level 3 or higher taken from no more than two additional domains on the National Qualifications Framework or approved subjects;

ii) A minimum of 14 credits at level 1 or higher in Mathematics on the National Qualifications Framework; and

iii) A minimum of 8 credits at level 2 or higher in English; 4 credits must be in Reading and 4 credits must be in Writing. The literacy credits will be selected from a schedule of approved achievement standards and unit standards.

Or applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university/ college.

12. Norway Satisfactory completion of Vietnemal fra den Videregaende Skolen (Upper Secondary Leaving Certificate)
13. Pakistan*

A. Students from high schools:
Intermediate/ Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or GCEOL/ GCSE, plus GCEAL results stipulated by the University.

B. Students studying at university:
Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university.

14. Philippines

Applicants who have completed a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university / college.

15. Saudi Arabia*

A. Students from high schools:
Applicants should obtain passes in:

i) at least 6 subjects (including English and Chinese/ an alternative language) in the General Certificate of Education at Ordinary Level/ General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCEOL/ GCSE)/ Tawjihiyah (General Secondary Education Certificate)  Examination in two consecutive sittings, and

ii) at least 2 Advanced Level (AL) subjects (or 1 AL plus 2 Advanced Supplementary (AS) subjects.

B. Students studying at university:
Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university/ college.

16. Singapore

A. Students taking the GCE O-Level and GCE A Level Examinations:
Applicants should obtain passes in:

i) at least 6 subjects (including English and Chinese/ an alternative language other than Chinese and English) in the General Certificate of Education at Ordinary Level/ General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCEOL/ GCSE) Examination in two consecutive sittings, and

ii) at least 2 Advanced Level (AL) subjects (or 1 AL plus 2 Advanced Supplementary (AS) subjects.

B. Students from polytechnics:
Diploma, Professional Diploma or Technical Diploma awarded by one of the following institutions, provided that the period of study extends over not less than two years (full-time) or four years (part-time): Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic or Temasek Polytechnic.

C. Students studying at university:
Successful completion of one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university in Singapore.

17. South Korea*

Senior High School Diploma or GCEOL/ GCSE, plus GCEAL results stipulated by the University.

Or applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university/ college.

18. Taiwan*

Senior High School Diploma or GCEOL/ GCSE, plus GCEAL results stipulated by the University.

Or applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university/ college.

19. Thailand*

Applicants who have completed senior secondary school-leaving certificate (e.g. Mathayom Suksa 6 – M6) or GCEOL/ GCSE, plus GCEAL results stipulated by the University.

Or applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university/ college.

20. UK

A. Students from high schools:
Applicants should obtain passes in:

i) at least 6 subjects (including English and Chinese/ an alternative language other than Chinese and English)  in the General Certificate of Education at Ordinary Level/ General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCEOL/ GCSE) Examination in two consecutive sittings, and

ii) at least 2 Advanced Level (AL) subjects (or 1 AL plus 2 Advanced Supplementary (AS) subjects

B. Students studying at university:
Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university/ college.

21. USA*

A. Students from high schools:
A High School (Graduation) Diploma AND either of the followings:

1. a combined score of 1,200 in SAT I (normally 550 in each part); or

2. a combined score of 1,650 in the (new) SAT Reasoning Test (including Critical Reading, Mathematics and Writing); or

3. an American College Test (ACT) composite score of 23; or

4. grade 3 in two Advanced Placement (AP) subjects.

B. Students studying at university:
Applicants who have completed one year's study on a bachelor's degree programme at a recognized university.




Remarks:
*Students admitted with good grades on qualification equivalent to Grade 12, but without studying bachelor degree programme for at least one year, admission, may be required to take additional courses.  Applications of this type will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis.
