Can I apply directly to HKBU for admission to undergraduate degree programmes? |

For direct application to the University, you should belong to either of the following categories:
- You are applying for admission on the basis of qualifications other than your Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE). Your basis of qualification can be GCE / GCSE / IGCSE results, International Baccalaureate Programme (IB), overseas examination results, Higher Diploma, Associate Degree, Degree; or
- You are currently enrolled as a full-time or sandwich degree student in any one of the nine JUPAS institutions (even if you are applying on the strength of your current or past HKALE results).
- Citizens of Mainland China who
(i) will need a student visa/ entry permit issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department to study in Hong Kong; and
(ii) DO NOT sit for the National Joint Entrance Examination in the Mainland China in the admission year; and
(iii) apply on the strength of qualifications other than HKALE should apply through Non-JUPAS admission scheme.

JUPAS is a scheme and the main route of application designed to assist students (current secondary 7 students or non-school applicants) to apply for admission to the University's undergraduate degree programmes.
Non-JUPAS is a scheme for all other applicants seeking admission on the strength of qualifications other than HKALE results.

I am over 25 years old and have some working experience, am I eligible to apply even if I have not qualified the entrance requirement? |

Persons who do not possess the formal academic qualifications required by the general university admission requirements but are aged 25 on September 1, 2009 in which admission is sought may be granted exemption from the general university admission requirements provided that:
1. They have pursued an appropriate programme of study; and
2. They are able to show by acceptable evidence that they have achieved sufficient competence in their chosen field of study to justify admission; and
3. They can demonstrate their aptitude and suitability for a particular programme of study by their experience and maturity.

The application period for admission to 2009-2010 undergraduate degree programmes is November 24, 2008 to January 21, 2009.
