| Chinese Language Requirements
Grade E or above in HKCEE Chinese Language. From 2007 onwards, Level II in HKCEE Chinese Language is considered as equivalent to a pass (Grade E) in the subject.
If you have no prior knowledge in Chinese, you may apply for those programmes which specify that Chinese Language can be substituted. The substitute should be an alternative language other than Chinese and English. English Language Requirements
(a)Grade E or above in HKCEE English Language (Syllabus B) and Grade E or above in AS Use of English; or
(b)a minimum score of 550 (Paper-based) or 213 (Computer-based) or 80 (Internet-based) in TOEFL; or
(c) a score of 6 or above in International English Language Testing System (IELTS); Academic Level; or
(d)Grade E or above in GCE AS Level or AL Level English; or
(e)Grade C or above in GCE O Level /GCSE/ IGCSE English; or
(f)Grade 3 in Joint Matriculation Board (JMB) University Test in English (or a pass in the NEAB University Entrance Test in English for Speakers of Other Languages).
Please note that the above is the minimum language requirement for admission. Some programmes may require applicants to have a higher standard of language proficiency. For details of programme requirements, please refer to the online Undergraduate Prospectus for 2009 Entry.
