| Q |
What subject(s) carries more weight when admission is considered? |
| A |
The assessment weighting for HKALE/HKCEE subjects varies with programmes. For programmes with HKALE and/or HKCEE subjects indicated in the entrance requirements, the required/preferred subjects probably carry more weight. Please note that your HKALE and HKCEE grades alone do not determine whether you will be admitted to a study programme. Other factors that will take into consideration include banding of choice, information contained in your application form, interviews (if applicable), overall grades achieved by other applicants in the current year, and the number of applicants applies to the programme, etc. |

Will I be admitted if I obtained excellent HKALE results but failed in AS Level Use of English? |
| A |
No. An applicant will not be considered for admission if he/she has failed to meet the University admissions requirements. To be eligible for admission, applicants are required to satisfy both the University and Programme entrance requirements. However, admission is on a competitive basis, satisfying the minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee admission.
